1) Lowers stress
Sex helps to create a balance between our emotional and mental health as it is a great stress buster. After sex, the brain releases endorphins that decrease stress, inducing a state of euphoria, in an individual.

During sex your body produces dopamine, a substance that fights stress hormones, endorphins, aka "happiness hormones" and oxytocin, a desire-enhancing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland.

In a study, published in the Public Library of Science journal, three neuroscience researchers conducted a test on male rats and found that the sexually active rats were less anxious than rats with no sexual activity.

Researchers have found that men who had five or more ejaculations weekly while in their 20s reduced their risk of getting prostate cancer later by a third. Another study, reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that frequent ejaculations, 21 or more a month, were linked to lower prostate cancer risk in older men, as well, compared with less frequent ejaculations of four to seven monthly.

Men who have sex more than twice a week, have a lesser chance of having a heart attack, when compared to men who avoid sex.

Scientists with New England Research Institute examined the effect of sex on the heart. The study concluded that men are 45 percent less likely to experience cardiovascular diseases. Because your heart rate increases when you’re having sex, fresh blood is supplied to your organs and cells. While used blood is removed, you also discard things from your body that cause you to feel tired.

6) Prevents Erectile Dysfunction

Fifty per cent of men older than 40 suffer from erectile dysfunctions and all young men fear the moment when they won't be able to get it up any more. The best medicine against impotence is...sex. An erection keeps the blood flowing through your penile arteries, so the tissue stays healthy. Plus, doctors compare an erection to an athletic reflex: the more you train the more capable you are to perform.

7) Balanced hormone level
Have trouble with your menstrual cycle? Then, make love with your partner, as this will help regulate the menstrual cycle and also decrease cramps as sex helps maintain a balanced hormonal level. Sex also reduces stress, which is one of the reasons women miss their periods. In men, testosterone is what makes you more passionate in the sack. Not only will it make you feel way better in bed, but it is also known to improve your muscles and bones, keeps your heart healthy and a check on your cholesterol. Estrogen in women protects them against heart disease and also determines a woman’s body scent. Seems like a better option than pills doesn't it?

8) Strengthens pelvic muscles
Sex involves the use of several muscles; hence, it can help you develop stronger pelvic muscles. Sex can also help strengthen your quads, core, and upper back. Strong muscles, calorie burner, improves heart health - sex seems to take care of you.

9) Healthier semen
If you're trying to conceive, you increase the volume of semen if you have sex regularly. Regular sex replaces old sperms from the testicles. If there is a natural build of sperms it can lead to DNA damage.

Sex can be a beauty treatment for women, since during intercourse, the estrogen levels double and this makes hair shine and the skin becomes softer.
