To Be Exiled
I dreamed on and life drifted away
Don't quite know how it got this way
Seems I've run out of things to say
Hope is somewhere out on the road where it lays,
Funny how I thought I was in control
Until I ran into my own little grassy knoll
These memories they take their toll
Been alone way too long Ill just take a stroll,
Rarely will you see a smile on my face
Perhaps its the absence of perfume and lace
A rogue government has invaded my space
It's not the hunt but the thrill of the chase,
Every night when I climb into bed
It seems there's visions of dread
The fools who don't know they're already dead
All the insane things being said,
Living in the prelude of a nation coming apart
Wish I'd known this from the very start
Propagandists and revolutionaries who think they're so smart
Their lies are off the charts!
Our Founding Fathers who created this land
We may be required to make a final stand
They won't take this gun from my hands!
They'd take a forest and turn it into desert sands,
In my own land I've become a stranger
Where my own countrymen don't see the danger
I would have done anything just trying to change her
But I'm not love's magical rearrange,
Love surely made a fool of me
Now I live in my own isolated tree
Sequestered from all frivolity
Human nature is but an infamy,
Take care not to meet any dark souls
Draining you of your blood is their ultimate goal
They will come to you in a subservient role
But you'll be lost in a cave as black as coal,
Trust in today's world is a fatal trait
Just when you think you've crossed into heaven's gate
She'll leave you in a blind sided state
Lost will be the legacy of your fate,
Somewhere a demon smiles
Because my friend you've been defiled
You'll find what it's like to be exiled
Feeling the betrayal like an innocent child,
One more toast to a world that was
