To Sink Into
I was like a sailor who left for the sea
When I got back there was nothing left for me
No tender words to set me free
The love of another was all she could see,
Like a little girl at a Disney movie
Having too much fun to hear my plea,
No longer a member of her family tree
Exiled from those I once thought were family,
The world had changed by the time I came back
Wished I could've headed back out I'd lost the knack
Of trust of love in the midst of the attack
For the first time prospects for the future seemed black,
Oh Lord there must be something you can do
There must be a perfect storm out there in that sea of blue
A dark place that I can just sink into
Sentimental over a heart I thought was gentle and true.
