Unrealized Dreams

Twisted promises of the thing that they call love

Not what I would call what dreams are made of

The war torn province of a wounded dove

In a world of push and shove,

Paradise of an illusion cast

When was I loved oh the time has passed

Storm at sea let down the mast

Must be the wicked spell she cast,

Going around in circles now

Somewhere there's a sacred cow

Pissing on the grave of Chairman Mao

And taking my eternal vows,

No matter how much you give

Too many fools who don’t know how to live

Blood pours out just like a sieve

So many atrocities I have to forgive,

Another indifferent day rolls by

Having to improvise on the fly

Time has severed all family ties

The isolation is hardest to defy,

They say move forward and forget the past

Without the Lord how long does your strength last?

The world situation is deteriorating fast

Phantoms at dawn and evil spells cast,

How many times can you roll out of bed?

How many times can you put aside the dread?

How many times must the poor children be fed?

The blood of the innocent always runs red,

You came to me wanting to change your life

But in the end all you caused me was strife

All it took was your thrust of the knife

All I wanted was a faithful wife,

Reflections of unrealized dreams

Somehow I fell victim for other’s schemes

A world of contradictions and useless extremes

All the oppressors and heartless regimes,

Pharaoh laid to rest in a tomb of gold

While most of us fear growing old

Better keep an eye out for black mold

You can’t even trust the majority of what you’re told.
