Victim of Memory
You're just a victim of your memory
When you're abandoned by friends and family
When that love perishes that should always be
You're just a victim of your memory,
When you realize that we're all alone
As though Narcisi's just cast a stone
The seeds of poison have all been sown
You've been struck right to the bone,
You're just a victim of you're memory
Mourning as the ashes float out to sea
Wondering just where could she be
You already know but you can't be free,
You're just a victim of your memory
Should you go or should you stay?
Only time washes the despair away
The scars remind you of the price you paid,
Like Christ Jesus on a cross
Overwhelmed by such a loss
In a stormy sea you've been tossed
You're just a victim of your memory,
Can there ever be an answer anywhere
Is there anyone who really cares?
You walk among people who only stare
The pain is more than you can bear,
You're just a victim of your memory
Be a man no one will cut you slack
You know she's never coming back
It's hard to face those facts,
You're just a victim of your memory
Time to realize you lived a dream
Your love was never peaches and cream
Things are never what they seem.
You're just a victim of your memory
Your worst possible enemy
Vivid recollections of you and me
You're just a victim of your memory.
