Happy Hour and clutching for last minute drinks

You unashamedly copulate like Minx

As your empire inevitably shrinks

From your waking nightmare time to get a few winks,

The revelation you’re no longer needed by anybody

In our throwaway society

So you drift like an invisible entity

While understanding is the key,

You’ve allowed lawyers and traitors to roam free

And you wonder what happened to your country

Whatever happened to from sea to shining sea?

It all seems too humbling to me,

Whatever happened to the miracle of love?

Once a thing only dreams were made of

A sanctuary from the push and shove

Is there no way left to rise above?

One misty morning the reflections come

Realizations that leave you numb

So many who willingly feed on government crumbs

In the dark I hear the beating of the drum,

Your nation crumbles thanks to the fools

The tears for the republic in deepening pools

As they indoctrinate young minds in the schools

Afraid that you’ll break their fascist rules.
