So self-assured and well heeled
This sword of realization that I wield
Always seeking sanctuary as my shield,
On this night that wounds time
I shall hear the clock of lost souls chime
Moonlight as bleached white as bones reflected on my spine
Just as the sightless who seek the signs.
Of the coming atonement for crimes against humanity
Those who emerged from the Sargasso Sea
Due to the turbulence of atrocities
Completely devoid of their sensibilities,
A non-existent society
If everyone has a frontal lobotomy
You can’t measure the universe without geometry
You’ll never be godly if you can’t admit your frailty,
We’re all victims in one way or another
Even if we had a beloved mother
The human condition too conflicted not to suffer
Here comes another missile take cover,
I spoke to you across years of dreams
Thinking not everything is as it seems
I got the impression you intended from your screams
Please stop coming apart at the seams,
Time travels deep in your head
It didn’t just disappear and it’s not dead
Despite all the misleading books you’ve read
Best to listen to your instincts instead,
Remember the very tip of an iceberg is all you can see
Unlike the life that’s bleeding out of you and me
No matter how much you want there’s no guarantee
Who really knows what’s meant to be?
