Vetting of the Unvettable the Humanitarian Illusion

The year is 1980 and in the midst of the Iranian hostage crisis President Jimmy Carter orders a ban on Iranian travel to the US as well as disallowing entry into America by members of this hostile nation. There was no negative news reporting or commentary over the executive order. There was no political posturing over this restriction. Why? Two reasons. 1) Jimmy Carter was a Democratic Party President. 2) The media was not going to amass an all-out smear campaign against a Democrat President.

History repeating itself

It is interesting to note the similarities between the Presidencies of Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama. Both presided over a serious economic recession, both implemented bad fiscal policy that did not remedy the economic malaise, both allowed US foreign policy to languish in negligent diplomacy that gave the upper hand to our enemies. Just as Jimmy Carter chastised the American public for being unproductive and not progressive enough so did Barack Obama who continually lectured American citizens on tolerance for Islamic culture while the nation suffered acts of terrorism with more than 900 active FBI investigations in all 50 states. At least President Carter served as a governor and a distinguished Naval officer where as President Obama had little experience that prepared him for the job.

A travel ban?

The year is 2011. Two Iraqis have been apprehended by US authorities. They came into the US on the typical lax vetting of the Obama administration. They are living in federal government housing, receiving welfare, and food stamps. They are also stock piling weapons, ammunition, and attempting to purchase missiles. Within days perhaps hours they are ready to begin an operation of mass destruction against US citizens. President Obama in short order enacts a ban on Iraq to temporarily halt travel to and from there along with any influx of Iraqis into the United States. There was no opposition to the move. There was no controversy. Why? 1) President Obama was a Democrat beloved by the US press corps. 2) There was no outright opposition by US Congress or the media on the level of smear campaigns we now see being orchestrated against newly elected President Trump for similar actions.

In spite of the American citizen

One might care to note that in his last few days as President, Barack Obama ordered the reception of refugees from Syria and other regions of the Middle East accelerated even though all federal intelligence agencies agreed that these people could not be vetted as there was no existing documentation or background information. As well, ISIS had already stated publicly they were embedding their operatives within the masses of refugees being admitted into the US. At the same time ISIS officials were using social media to call upon operatives already in the US to commit acts of Jihad! One might ask just why any president who has the duty of protecting American citizens and defending the US Constitution would allow the unsafe entry of unvetted foreigners into the country.

8 years of strife

As has been the case consistently over the last 8 years President Obama put the priority of safety of American citizens as low on the totem pole. Ordering ICE to release convicted illegal alien criminals back into the general population, supporting sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal authorities over extradition of criminal aliens they are holding, suing border states for enforcing federal immigration law because the government won’t do its job, are only a few of the actions that typify the regard of the Obama White House for the welfare of American citizens. With President Trump now at the controls we are witnessing the crude, profane, and death threat, backlash by the left who have waged a domestic war against a leader who will spark a recovery that will succeed.

Their own defeat

The Democrat Party continues to self-destruct under the weight of its own obsession with ruling those who it refuses to identify with using socialist policies and being a proponent of porous borders making them purveyors of a global government. Arrogantly refusing to acknowledge the will of the people is exactly how President Trump rose to prominence. They will have only themselves to blame for the disintegration of the party for their false narratives, propaganda, and allowing America to decline rather than reaching across the aisle and doing what is best for the nation. An investigation into voter fraud will further prove just how corrupt the Democratic political machine is further driving the nails into their coffin.
