Words That Bled

Talking to you from inside my head
Some things better left unsaid
All those words that have bled
All those tears so silently shed,

Forever you are gone from my bed
And that's reality speaking instead
All the lies that I've been fed
There's only one who rose from the dead,

Living alone like the blackness of space
As though isolated from the human race
This is not the way to save face
Break the glass just in case,

A storm is brewing over the horizon
But they're blinded with all the flies on
Like pigs bitten by the scorpion
Seeking knowledge where there is none,

My humble offering of understanding
Are those unknown vehicles landing?
Are there conspiracies they are planning?
Who will be the last man standing?

Tired of the pointless pursuits
War will continue to devour the recruits
No matter how glorious the salutes
All of our leaders on the hill in cahoots,

Hand in hand into the Hollywood sunset
Darling don't you fret
The false promises you'll live to regret
As though we never met,

Dreams hovering like a forest mist
When it used to mean something just to be kissed
The excitement of a child's Christmas list
The damage you do when you insist,

Brush strokes of love as it fades
And you thought you were so perfectly made
More to life than just getting paid
The pain when you discover you were played,

Like a violin or a grand piano
Your unfaithful lover who layed you low
It changed your life now you know
Let the funeral procession pass by slow.
