The 'debate' held in Westminster Hall was in all but name only. As MP Richard Harrington states, nobody in Parliament supported the petition and much of the discussion centered around how immigration benefits the UK. While European and other Western nation immigration can be beneficial, third world immigration is not. Speakers at the 'debate' avoided this fact and consider the matter resolved. Considering the anti-immigration sentiment in polls and that Immigration is the number one concern in the UK; the public clearly does not consider the matter resolved.
