Are Black Friday Riots A Preview Of The Civil Unrest That Is Coming...

Once in a while an event comes along that gives us a peek into what life could be like when the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is stripped away. For example, when Hurricane Sandy hit New York and New Jersey there was rampant looting and within days people were digging around in supermarket dumpsters looking for food. Sadly, "Black Friday" also gives us a look at how crazed the American people can be when given the opportunity. This year was no exception. Once again we saw large crowds of frenzied shoppers push, shove, scratch, claw, bite and trample one another just to save a few bucks on cheap foreign-made goods.

how long will a 99 dollar t/v last.. or is the sellar is desperate to off load.. Then thieves come n pinch it back Ha Ha   he he  - the crime industry never sleeps

They don't call it Black Friday Madness for nothing. Once again, as in years past, America will go wild and demonstrate the worst of humanity; including fights, near riots, knocking down children, and full-on degeneracy -- all in search of America's Holy Grail: a good deal.

And it has arrived earlier than ever before, which ironically has led to protests within corporate monolith Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart spokesperson, Bill Wertz, defended the early hours by saying that "associates understand that Black Friday and the holiday season is the most important time of the year." The implication, of course, is that it is more important to be with Wal-Mart than to be with your own family for a relaxing Thanksgiving dinner.

LAPD to Deploy Choppers, Horses for Black Friday

Black Friday is a day for burning off those Thanksgiving calories with some intense Christmas shopping. But for the Los Angeles Police Department, it’s become a day of surveillance, crowd control and crime-suppression tactics.

Helicopters will buzz above some shopping centers, and below, a cavalry of LAPD officers will patrol on bikes and horses. From store rooftops, officers will scan the crowds below looking for unruly behavior. Electronic signs near stores will warn customers about becoming victims of theft as they navigate the mass of humanity looking for bargains.

The deployments are part of a new strategy by the LAPD to deal with the retail roller derby that comes after Thanksgiving. In addition to stationing officers around shopping centers, the LAPD has been visiting stores across the city this week, talking to managers about the psychology of the frantic shopper.

Officials said the push was prompted by a series of incidents at Black Friday sales, notably one last year at a Porter Ranch Wal-Mart in which two dozen people were injured when a woman unleashed pepper spray during a frantic battle for some discounted video games.

LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith said he hopes people will behave. But “like Chief [Charlie] Beck says, we are not in the optimism business.”
