I think the casualty number is going to be between 50-75 at least. No way 600+ people can evac such a large building so fast and no way the firefighters has been able to get to them in time in that structure.

Yes, you're right Woot and LP.

Never seen anything like this though. The fire basically engulfed  the building in under 15 minutes. And with 600+ residents of all ages and in a 27-storey building, that must mean a hell of a lot casualties.

Only in New York are the buildings so dilapidated that they collapse  due to small fires. Grenfell Tower is a different story.

morning has broken...but the 1974 building didn't... buildings made of steel dont fall down from fires....EVER

  ...this one burned way more that 89 minutes folks....

Khalid Sarang, 23, lives in neighbouring block and reported it was like “hell on earth”.

“I have friends who live on the top floor and I can’t get them on the phone.

“There is a family of four trapped up there now screaming.

“The first thing I heard were the screams and I came running out.

“It’s like hell on earth.”
