223 has almost no recoil. I've shot ARs before. I own a 12 gauge, buck shot hurts like crazy but bird shot is not bad and still effective. It really depends on what the situation is. Rifles and shotguns can both be useful but Biden is an idiot. 223 AR will be a lot lighter to operate than a shot gun. The action may take getting used to but there is zero recoil.
