Halo, you do understand that the object in question there is in the background image, right? It doesn't move with elenin because it is not elenin. Its data from four years ago, not recent. I'm not sure what it is, but it is a deep space object.
Google Sky does not even track elenin because it is so small and insignificant. If they are not including it in the data then they are not showing images of the comet.
The software works with layering of data from numerous sources. Try it yourself and zoom in wherever you want. You'll see galaxies, pulsars, nebula and other assorted distant space objects. But not planets or comets.
The answer for this is simple enough. The strange looking thing is not elenin. Its something else in the background image. Notice the square when he zooms in over that black/purple object. Thats the location of the comet. You can't see it with Google sky because it is too small.
There are millions if not billions of background objects in google sky that are not named or tracked.
