“The Indignant March” (orig. title: La Marcha Indignada) is a tale on a rebellion of a generation defying the established political system, media manipulation and social injustice. It is a group picture of people and events accompanying ideas of the 15M Movement, born on the angry streets of Spanish towns and cities in 2011. The echoes of its slogans such as “Real democracy now!” “Outrage” or “It’s not a crisis; it's a scam” reverberated throughout the entire world inspiring ordinary people in many countries to organize and speak up. Arm-in- arm, young citizens of Europe marched through sun-scorched landscapes of Spain, through Paris, to get to Brussels. On their way to the European Parliament, the “Indignados” organized hundreds of open debates engaging people of local towns into deep deliberations about the condition of democracy and causes of the global crisis. Witnesses and authors taking part in the march tell us a story saturated by a mix of euphoria and anxiety experienced by people on their journey. This popular revolt avoids contamination by the revolutionary slogans of the 20th century but instead turns into the pacifist manifestation against the ruling elite condemning future generations to mass unemployment and fear of homelessness.
