I agree NAU, it's like France is the polar opposite of America. They certainly don't take their freedoms for granted. Freedom is the theme of Les Miserables, one of my favorites. The guillotine is probably the most humane types of execution. It was so popular that women wore guillotine earrings and children played with toy guillotines. Good food and the time to eat it is very important in France. When you make a reservation at a restaurant, you have the table for the evening so you aren't rushed to leave. They would never accept our fast food and 30 minute lunch breaks. Would love to hear what your friend in Austria has to report, please keep us updated.

well the other reason the French take to the streets when their government screws them over and Americans don't is not just because of what the French eat compared to the Americans, it's also in the French heritage to keep your government in check. They had revolution WAY before the US did. The French invented the guillotine, and a for a reason. A couple years ago when the French government was threatening the people with austerity measures, they were taking CEO's and bankers hostage until they got the austerity measures removed. So the French government is actually quite aware of the motives and actions the French people are capable of. Another funny thing about the french and what they're doing over there is nothing like how it would go down here, in the US it would be pure madness and chaos. The French still conduct and maintain organized and scheduled uprisings like this. My friend in Austrian is heading to France this weekend to document all that's going on there. His co-worker who's already there has told him that the French police and the citizens still take their 2 hour wine breaks. The police will go over to their vans and have wine and cheese and bread for a couple hours, and so do the rioters. They go to a near by cafe and do the same, then when those two hours are up, it's back to rioting. Quite a funny system they have of doing things over there, quite civil when it comes down to it.

But PH, those are all the things that pussified Americans and made them soft and weak. The French don't eat junk like that, maybe that's why they have the energy to get up and protest. And that's why MSM constantly disparages the French...remember freedom fries? They want us to think the French are just spoiled brats and we should never go out and protest like they do. But I agree when those things are taken away, Americans will be desperate. It'll be like taking a security blanket away from a baby, there will be a lot of crying. But what can fat, crying babies do? Too little, too late.

yeah, i do all that. i don't use banks. i but at mom and pop store's and the farmers market. and i do not buy all the new gadgets.

Thanks for posting this NAU, this is really excellent. I agree we have the most brutal police but most Americans are not even aware of that either! They'll get a big surprise if they ever do take to the streets. Americans have been pussified for decades.

Excellent stuff.
Education and awareness are the only things that can help us. I do my best to talk and influence co-workers. It's one of the simple things that can be done.

Open debate and respect for everyone can still help us. The implosion doesn't have to destroy everything.
