Legally the penalty for killing a police dog is the same as killing a cop. If this is justice then killing an unarmed dog is the same as killing an unarmed civilian. But justice was never really the point of the legal system was it?

You are right, Tweek, the torture of a human being is worse. I get so much more angry about the abuse of animals, though. I guess it is because I put them in the same category as babies and small children--innocent and (mostly)defenseless against an adult (human), with no (sure/unmistakable) way to communicate their pain and/or fear.
