Rainbow Spirit - From the Heart of the Fire
For more than 25 years the music from around the campfires of the Rainbow Gathering has inspired the hearts of thousands worldwide. Since 1972 the Rainbow family has sponsored a yearly "Gathering of the Tribes", focused around a fourth of July silent prayer for peace on Earth. Rainbow Spirit is a prayer for peace among all nations, hope for the future, and love and respect for our creator, mother earth and all our relations.

Siege on campsite 'turned fatal'

It was supposed to be a spiritual celebration of happiness, love and harmony.
But the peace of the Rainbow Family gathering in northern NSW was shattered after 33-year-old Ryan Pringle terrorised the group with a large knife and crossbow, threatening them with death.
Mr Pringle, the son of former rugby league player Neil Pringle, was shot dead by police on April 15 last year after three days of his increasingly erratic behaviour culminated in a terrifying siege.
An inquest into his death is examining the circumstances of his death and whether police were justified in their actions.
Several campers took the stand at the Coroners Court on Monday and described how Mr Pringle behaved oddly and aggressively during the first couple of days of the School of Happiness retreat - eating a honeycomb covered in bees and threatening to kill dogs http://hm.bigpond.com/articles/National-Regional/2013/11/25/Siege_o...
