Reports Saying Banks Are Running Out of Money in Arizona "Vault Locked"

Apparently banks in Arizona can't pull enough money out for customer requesting as little as $5000 in cash. Amazing stuff, maybe someone can explain this.

I've been asking around, DJ.  This has been going on for some time here in Cali....ridiculous.  Now that is crazy that someone would have to do a refi for just £2000.

A friend of mine could not get a load of £2000 to get his car fixed even tho he had got loans before from the same banks and paid them off no problem. He had to remortgage his house to get the loan.crazy

Barry, your wife sounds like a very smart lady.  And buying cars like that is a lot better than buying from a dealer and losing a lot of value up front (that was also one of the lessons in "Rich Dad, Poor Dad.")

You are better prepared than most so make it a goal to get those extra things you need soon.  You've given me inspiration, thanks my friend.

Just to clarify, we moved downstairs and shut the upstairs off to save money.  The down stairs unit was shot so we replaced it with a really good economical unit plus we have a wood stove.  The cars were used but low mileage and in great shape.  We shopped about 3 weeks for each one and used auto trader to find good deals.  We bought one out of state yesterday driving about 100 miles one way.  We saved about 2000.00 doing that.  I put the metal roof up anticipating harsh weather in the future.  My wife is a very good money manager.   She also grinds her own wheat and bakes bread.  Getting her to let go of the money has been hard however.  We still need more food and harsh weather clothing and better farm tools.  I also have chickens.  But I feel that we are still not ready.  I don't know why but I have a deep concern in my heart for you and Jen.  Please take care of yourselves.  I truly value our friendship.  (and all friends here on 12160)  I'm not worried but I am truly concerned for you and all here.  Sorry for the long post.

Barry, that's likely a good strategy.  Those cars will cost more to buy in a few months than they do now, so go for it if you can.

Thanks for the vid Nikki.  Several years ago I drew out 10,000.00 with no problem.  I haven't tried it lately though.  I guess I'd have to put 10,000.00 in first though HA!  I just bought my wife a car, my daughter a car, a new central heating/cooling system and a new metal roof and paid cash/check for all of it.  I told my wife, if you want something, get it now while the money is still worth something.  So I have very little left.  Enough to buy some extra food and a well pump.  I would advise everyone to use it wisely while you can.  Thanks again for the vid.

I deal in cash only but I have no debt either, but I still maybe screwed if new policies are in effect.

They're trying to discourage the use of cash it seems.  I can understand why the man in the video needs cash.  If folks are selling their gold to him that means they need cash quickly, not a check.  I do believe that businesses can refuse to take currency, does anyone know for sure?

About 2 years ago, I went into my bank (a BofA bank actually) with a $5K check to cash out. I was told then 2 things - (1) WE [the bank] no longer keep large sums of cash in the vault and (2) if I wanted, the bank would put in an order to have the money 'delivered' [to that branch] the next day.  It didn't dawn on me what had just happened until I got to my car - I had just been told by BofA that cash was no longer available.

That's crazy! I wonder what's up with that.
