Yes, you are right but like I said, they don't seem to put much thought into "How" they are doing it, ie; examining the surrounding ground like a doctor does a patient . Frankly I am for solar and Tesla type energies taken from the air rather than from the earth. Blowing up bits and pieces of the earth is dangerous.

Seems to me that if fracking causes releases of tension in a fault that it might act to cause more but smaller quakes. That should be safer, in that it would prevent buildups that would cause a major quake. Should fracking be allowed anywhere, ever? No, I think not. Oddly enough, I work in the Bakken oilfield, and fracking feeds me. But it is still going to destroy everything it touches, in time. We're selling our future for dollars today.

I am not a geologist and know very little about mining except what I have read about. I think that if they use drilling and fracking very, very carefully it can be beneficial but they often don't.  Drilling around the volcano could be a good way to relieve the underground pressure if they can focus on the right area..

It's kind of like blood-letting,when your blood pressure is too high it can help you avoid a heart attack, if you can catch my drift.
