Steve-

My grandfather was that good with a rifle.  He grew up hunting because that was the only way the family ate.  Wish I had the skills he did, because I think I may be needing them pretty soon.  My grandmother would pick a chicken up by it's head and snap it right off.  Hardy stock.  

My grandfather would feed his hogs table scraps too and whey.  The whey would ferment and make for happy hogs!  lol

Not bragging but here's an example of shootin their eye out I made this shot 20 ft.up in my treestand and 15 yds away thru his left eye and out his back tasty treerat fried like chicken yum yum.

Hey Parr,

When I totaled feed after 7 months I ended up with 14.00 # pork thats FOURTEEN$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ a pound, wasn't that a big mistake cause ol porkchop wasn't that tasty it wasn't like when I was a boy and the hogs got free leavins from schools ,leftovers, old market produce  etc. Now days I just buy a whole hog from local supplier and butcher it myself not hard to learn I have processed hundreds of deer,cattle,chickens and various other MEATS for me and friends.

Hey Parr ,

Wifey and me just finished canning 60#s of chuck 2-35# chunks yielded 65#s of lean over30 qts. canned,If your mouth has never tasted canned beef you are missing one of lifes great tastes. The last pig I raised was named pork chop and was very tame so remember friendly meat is tasty meat.

It's none of the USDA's business if a person wants to buy from a farmer and consume said product.  This government interference in every aspect of people's lives is way out of hand.  My grandfather butchered his hogs and we used to butcher steers.  Amazing as it may seem, we all came out healthy without government oversight.  Of course it isn't about safety, it's about the government not getting their piece of the pie (or the entire pie).

QUIT BEING A WHINEY ASS SLAVE,if your life is not worth defending then hit your knees and be a fkn slave. The so called "feds" have no authority what so ever over a freeman,10 square miles(DC) +forts and borders is the limit of any pretend authority. If your family and life aren't worth defending WITH YOUR LIFE then go be a slave.
