Doctor Steven Greer speaking about the “Truth Embargo” concerning UAP’s just as David Paulides, former Police Investigator, remarked, that the US federal government does not want to admit to the existence of anything it cannot control. That goes for Bigfoot, Sasquatch, or Sabe (pronounced Sawbay) by the Native tribes of the Northwest Pacific. What are the implications of the government admitting that it has hidden information about something that exists that has remained in official denial? For years we know that the US Air Force maintained a very skeptical attitude toward the admission of UFO reality even ridiculing qualified observers and pilots who had encountered them. Much the same as occurred in the Bigfoot community as many reports, photos, and pieces of evidence have been denied legitimacy by the powers that be.

So, what is so controversial and threatening if the US Forest Service, the Department of Interior, and Bureau of Land Management were to acknowledge the existence of a North American primate previously unknown to science? These are possible regulatory repercussions as mentioned below:

• Sasquatch would have to be acknowledged as intelligent beings with the same rights as humans.
• Territorial establishment would have to come next as conservation programs would emerge.
• Such activities that go on in deep remote wilderness such as the lumber industry, oil explorations, tourism, and hunting would, no doubt, be restricted having a huge economic impact!
• Legal liability for injuries or deaths suspected to have been committed by Sasquatch creatures could bring about litigation against the government for failing to protect its citizens from a known predatory life form!
• Science would suffer great embarrassment over refusing to acknowledge a species that ha been recognized the world over in the historic record, yet has been denied by modern science.
• Tourists attracted to the National Park and Recreation system would likely be scared off while others would consider this hunting season in order to bag a specimen as proof. Fatalities would likely result.
• Once again, the US federal government would lose credibility in the eyes of its citizens!

So, Bigfoot, despite circumstantial evidence, eye witness testimony, and controversial DNA proof without a cadaver, remains in the mystery realm, undocumented, unrecognized, and in the category of hoax, myth, and fantasy, much as UAP’s have remained in the unofficially announced column of institutionalized denial.

According to Steve Isdahl some 1,500 DNA samples have been sent into laboratories and tacitly verified as unknown! The FBI took samples for analysis as far back as the 1970’s. Recently a leaked poster exhibited in a Bureau of Land Management office showed a map that marked reported Bigfoot sightings, but once it was discovered, it was taken down. The State of Washington considers Sasquatch to be a resident species among its acknowledged fauna. California considers itself to be a refuge for the creature with over 400 verified sightings. The State of Tennessee has designated legislation that would make it a crime to kill a Sasquatch and recognizes it as a state cryptid. An old saying, “The wheels of justice grind slowly.” When it comes to Bigfoot, “The wheels of official acknowledgement grind even more slowly.”
