You might wish you had more to say
On your obituary day
All those times that you hoped and that you prayed
Somehow the words were lost in the fray,
Was there anyone who cared anyway?
The stench of life’s one act play
Expecting results with no delays
Living a life with little praise,
As you stare with a mesmerized gaze
As you note that insanity is the latest craze
And it’s not just a passing phase
God created this self-defeating maze,
I know these words are hard
Like trees that are burnt and charred
Despite the world’s disregard
Your journey has been so bizarre,
Earth has been the source of your mental scars
You won’t find any answers at the bars
Go ahead and buy all those houses and the cars
But, you might as well just talk to the celestial stars,
As asteroid dust just settles to the ground
And you desperately search for any joy that can be found
You’re just a mortal soul who is earthbound
A minor disturbance in the lost and found.
