Two US warships carrying roughly 500 troops are present in the Black Sea, ostensibly to assist with Russia with necessary response to terrorist acts and to evacuate Americans from the Olympic games in Sochi, but today's headlines give rise to speculation that the deployments could have dual-purpose.
Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich arrived at the Kremlin Thursday for talks with Putin and will attend the opening games, obviously troubled by his communication with Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland just hours prior, to risk being found absent while Kiev streets burn.
Putin adviser Glazyev was asked by Kommersant-Ukraine newspaper whether Russia might "actively intervene".
Recalling the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, which removed Soviet nuclear weapons from Ukraine, he said: "Under the document, Russia and the USA are guarantors of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and ... are obliged to intervene when conflict situations of this nature arise."
Seriously- does this not feel sooo after hours at that one bar...
Tripping balls over here.

Russian and American media have been at each others throats for the last 2 weeks. I guess you smelt it too.
The guided-missile frigate USS Taylor, one of two ships on deployment in the Black Sea, is being inspected for damage after running aground last week as it was preparing to moor in Samsun, Turkey, a spokesman for the U.S. 6th Fleet said Tuesday.
The Taylor was able to moor without further incident, and there were no injuries, said 6th Fleet spokesman Lt. Shawn Eklund.
The incident, which occurred on Feb. 12, is under further investigation, Eklund said.
So much for high tec
Yea, I saw that. I'm sure I'm just too much of a skeptic... sounds kind of bullshitty to me.
If a naval ship is "offline" for repairs, does that mean it doesn't emit a signal?
IDK...
