I just came across this on Facebook, and you're not going to believe this. You also get a ticket for using a ham radio transceiver. A man was driving and was stopped by police in NY for using a Ham Radio in the car while driving. This also goes for FRS, and other 2 way radios. What more can the police state offer now???
Well what is this I hear about cell phones killing the bees while low power VHF and HF signals make the honey bees survive. Tell you the truth, ham radio will survive better than cell phone services, they can go down any time, any day and some people cannot afford to keep their cell phone on. Cell phone service costs hard earned money to keep going not to mention you need a web plan added on to it. Ham radio, CB, 49 MHz communications will live and survive more than cell phone services. What hams need is hands free wired devices for their transceivers , the law is right, that everyone even ham radio operators have to keep both hands on the wheel to prevent accidents. Problem is that Bluetooth devices emit 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz microwave radiation and those devices might cause cancer or other diseases. It's best to use wired types or ones that operate on a lower frequency like in the VHF range in digital mode. They have these "junk" devices that operate on a FM broadcast frequency of 99.3 FM and they are prone to evaesdropping even when the vehicle is moving, they are not digital. I think they should make something that offers better privacy and is in digital FSK mode.
