Iranians were controlling that strait from more than 2000 years so, i don't see how can U.S. control that strait. It's as DJT's expectation to buy Greenland and no one to oppose to him. :)
He forgot that in U.S. he will have more social civil unrests as much wars will be done on petty excuses/motifs on different countries even using false flags and double speech.
U.S.(by DJT's declaration) even has declared that want to step back from international military operations its actions speaks otherwise and will lead at different opinion between population and Establishment/Govt. and we do know what will happen if these 2 entities will not get along: -civil war in worst case scenario or dictature/fascism; The State as a system will want to survive and impose its will to the citizens.
