Jesse Benton, the national campaign chairman for Ron Paul’s 2012 presidential bid, flatly told The Daily Caller on Tuesday that Paul “will not endorse Gary Johnson.”

The decision is not entirely unexpected, as Paul’s son, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, spoke at the Republican National Convention last week and has endorsed Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

During the Republican convention, Ron Paul refused to endorse Romney amid a bitter fight between Paul supporters and party leaders over delegate spots.

Paul told Bloomberg on Friday that he wasn’t pleased with Romney’s Thursday night convention speech.

“I remain very, very skeptical of hearing anything that will change the course of history,” said Paul. “There was no talk of the Federal Reserve. One of the engines of spending is militarism and empire and he enhanced it. He was on pushing it.”

Paul also praised Johnson, the former Republican governor of New Mexico, at the convention, saying, “I think he’s wonderful and I think he’s doing a good job, and people should look at him and every individual should make up their own mind.”

So... his big announcement will be his retirement than? It seems to be the case.

Regardless, Paulites should support LP. If you have already registered to vote and you don't want Obama or Romney it's the only vote that counts.

hmm??? last time I checked, "The people who cast the votes don't decide an election, the people that count the votes do." Joseph Stalin. And thank you for telling me whom I should vote for. That's mighty nice of you.

If I did vote in the federal election circus this year, I would probably have to give my vote to Elmer Fudd. I just don't see any other viable choices when really, there is only one choice the status quo has hand picked for us... Obamney. Until a third party candidate actually gets to be seated at the same dinner table come election time, I instead will excuse myself from the table where the game is rigged and besides... who wants to eat in a room full of swine? Just being close to that lot will make you foul ;)

The Libertarian Party has the same position as you on most issues, if not all.

If they get 5% of the vote this election they get matching funds next election.

Vote for the third biggest party in America. The one that stands for liberty and small government.

Tara, RP seems to have warmed up to running 3rd party, it was notable after his being neglected during the primary debates.

A little glimmer of hope but that does not correct the voter fraud, the diebold voting machines and as I've stated over and over... third party candidates not being allowed to be seated at the same dinner table come election time. Will he be allowed to be in the debates, that is for all the world to see via MSM???

WHEN IS RON GOING TO BE DONE WITH BENTON?!?!? I'M SICK OF HEARING HIS NAME!
