And so it begins....I have a feeling there are going to be a long list of states added here shortly ;)

Florida Gov. Rick Scott now says Florida will do nothing to comply with President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and will not expand its Medicaid program. The announcement is a marked changed after the governor recently said he would follow the law if it were upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.

"Florida is not going to implement Obamacare. We are not going to expand Medicaid and we're not going to implement exchanges,'' Scott's spokesman Lane Wright told The Associated Press on Saturday. Wright stressed that the governor would work to make sure the law is repealed.

Scott told Fox News the Medicaid expansion would cost Florida taxpayers $1.9 billion a year, but it's unclear how he arrived at that figure.

Scott said the state will not expand the Medicaid program in order to lower the number of uninsured residents, nor will Florida set up a state-run health exchange, a marketplace where people who need insurance policies could shop for them. "We care about having a health care safety net for the vulnerable Floridians, but this is an expansion that just doesn't make any sense,'' he told Fox host Greta Van Susteren.

hmmmm he probably made this statement to get the shock of its cost out there,he'll put up a fake fight and then slam the residents of florida more controlled opposition.

King Barry the 1ST is going to stomp his feet on this one

It would be nice if Scott continued his statement with a follow-up that the state would no longer force property owners (especially homeowners) to pay school taxes (another collectivist institution).  The public screwl endoctrination centers force individuals to pay a tax they would otherwise choose not to pay....especially those individuals with no children.

Rick Scott Scott formed HCA Acquisition Company specifically to acquire Hospital Corporation of Americaand secured funding conditional on completing the acquisition. The initial offer was declined by HCA and ultimately withdrawn.

The next year, he formed Columbia Hospital Corporation and successfully acquired several Dallas area hospitals. Beginning in 1992, Scott and his partners bought a hospital a year for four years, including HCA, his former target. By 1997, Columbia/HCA was the largest healthcare provider on the glove, with annual revenues exceeding $23 billion.

But by then, an investigation begun by the New York Times had caught the eye of the federal government. The federal investigation uncovered evidence of fraud and the company ultimately paid $1.7 billion in fines. Rick Scott's departure from the company was part of the arrangement to avoid criminal charges. Scott relocated to Naples, Florida and founded Richard L. Scott Investments. Starting in 1998, the firm acquired numerous targets.
