Guy in Stormtrooper suit treks 3,100 miles for kids' charity

The Force is strong in Jacob French, a 21-year-old who walked across Australia to raise money for a children's charity while wearing a full Stormtrooper costume. The longtime "Star Wars" fan covered 3,100 miles between Perth and Sydney and raised almost $100,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation during his nine-month "Troopertrek." French stopped along the way to visit hospitalized kids and to take pictures with stunned locals.

The force is awesome...

Nothing in the Universe is stronger than the Power of The Force !

The force is strong with him. His midichlorian count is off the charts but he's kind of short for a storm trooper ;)

It's nice to hear someone doing something good for others.

It's so nice to hear some positive news for a change. It's easy to dwell in the negative with all that is going on in the world today but we must not forget that with all the evil going on, there is also a counter balance of good and many good people among us.

Just think, if it wasn't for George Lucas none of this would have been possibly. Also, consider the irony of a man with such a kind heart, walking that far for charity wearing a villains costume. Talk about balance...

... it's interesting how these opposing energies drive us and make us the tightly knit things that we are.

Right on Krypke! As much as we all hate evil and go out of our way to expose it to eventually destroy it, is it not there for a reason? Is there something much more deeper to learn from it all? If all we knew was good, could we then call ourselves human? To be human is to laugh, smile, rejoice, love, ect.. but also there is a darker side too; one of fear, mourning, tears, pain, anger, ect. It is all relative.

The beauty of being human is triumphing above all evil to do good. Without evil, would we know good or would we be in a void of an uncharged heart and soul, like a proton without its counterpart, an electron.

I do believe that "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger." There is much to learn on this journey called life. You've got to take the bad with the good and the good with the bad because it's all relative... it molds us into who we are, individually and collectively. And once we can accept this we are on our way to freedom within and out.

"... would we be in a void of an uncharged heart and soul, like a proton without its counterpart, an electron."

Oh now that's good right there...

that's awesome stuff...there is a young skywalker in every stoomtrooper i guess ..

Lol yea I guess there is
