House budget punishes IRS with 15% cut, halts Obamacare enforcement

The Internal Revenue Service is about to get slapped with a harsh payback for messing around with conservative groups, blowing wads of tax dollars on employee conferences and helping implement Obamacare.

The House Appropriations Committee is set to OK an IRS budget of $10.9 billion, $1.5 billion under President Obama's request for fiscal year 2015, reducing the agency's budget to 2008 levels.

The goal is to keep the tax agency focused on its “core duties,” and eliminate efforts to judge the political activities of tax-exempt groups and brake its implementation of Obamacare.

The funding is part of a larger $21 billion bill for several agencies including the IRS, Treasury Department and Securities and Exchange Commission. Noting that it cuts $2.3 billion from the president's overall request, Chairman Hal Rogers said, “the bill focuses cuts on lower-priority or poor-performing agencies, such as the scandal-plagued and inefficient Internal Revenue Service.”

It won't feel one bit good until the Fed and its thug mob collection agency, IRS, are permanently abolished.  I always felt strongly about this--even when I identified myself as a far left liberal.

I agree Dan! But how do we go about doing this as a Country when 'We the People' are not united as a front because of so many different variables?

When it begins many will come to the fray. Too many are tired of the continuing BS and are just biding their time waiting for some state leadership to decide when enough is enough. When one state decides OK this is it! and it's militia begins to act a call will go out and it will be answered by real Americans.

There is no set timeline simply because of all the criminal monitoring. I watched last night as my grand daughters cell phone sitting by itself started taking pictures. Nobody near it and the flas going off every few minutes.

All this monitoring gives us reason to be wary. So prepare as you can for the other shoe to drop.

Nope, it isn't enough.. IRS budget should be reduced to ZERO, due to incompetence.  Eliminate the entire agency and go to a flat tax of 5% on everyone..Post card sized return.

What was your gross income??

Send us 5%, Thank you.

I agree Cold War Gunner! It's a lot better than what we have now with the IRS extorting our money, be it fiat money or not... week to week.

I think you're heading in the right direction, but any and all income tax is simply wrong.  It is tyranny.  I would take you flat tax on sale of goods.  That would be more than enough to fund a lean government that served a free people.

Testimony From IRS Commissioner Claimed Lerner’s Emails Were Archived

While the White House has defended the IRS in its explanation of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s lost emails, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) offered a reminder that IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified in March 2014 that IRS employee emails had been stored on servers.

In the video, Koskinen testified that his own emails were not all on his computer, but “stored somewhere”. Watch Video
