I've heard you can do a one-time "Offer in Compromise" with the IRS, and settle for much less than what you owe. Here's a link: http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Offer-in-Compromise-1

There is a statute of limitations on back taxes of 10 years.  My husband and I had the same problem and we never responded and just ignored them. When 10 years arrived we sent notification in writing that the statue of limitations had passed and we demanded the lien release for those taxes.  They sent it.   Its when you file and sign, and respond to their correspondance before 10 years, that you get in trouble since those acts validate your waiver of   your rights.   The IRS is not a legal entity in this country.  That is why it is housed off shore in Puerto Rico.   Its the COLLECTION ARM OF THE IMF.

Don't end up like Ed and Elaine Brown. All the alternative media attention they got and look what happened. They ended up in prison for the rest of their lives. It's not even close to worth it.

A wise warrior knows to only fight the battles he can win. Don't be an emotional idealist. It's the surest path to defeat.

Can't really argue. Much merit to this thought presented Kript.

BUT at the same time, is there not some truth to just dam well doing what is right, for rights sake?  If U know what I mean?

We really need to stop feeding the beast and refuse to be part of it, IN EVERY WAY!  And would that not be the solution at the tipping point of enough souls doing so?  Yes the first ones to do so will get Fed, agreed.  Not a good way to live to fight another day.

Sun Tzu and just about every other great commander (you name them) would agree with me. George Washington retreated many times. He also survived and won the war that brought us our independence...

Don't be the naive, sappy, idealist. Mike Rivero is a good guy, but he doesn't have to make himself a martyr. That archetype only works if you're at the forefront. Even then it's not a guaranteed win for the team.
