James expressed his decision to change the site name in conjunction with the site hosting relocation at Saturday's round table on Tinychat. I offered to facilitate that through the creation of this group and James agreed.

I am not an admin. James has tried to recruit me as such many times but so far that has not been a burden that I have been willing to bear. I can't speak for James, but with your well spoken and positive demeanor and long record of activity here I'd be willing to bet he'd make you an admin if you want the job. It's a rather messy and thankless position though.

What I am is one of the site's few remaining and active "founding fathers" (yes KLC you are a founding FATHER, lol) and frequently called upon technical consultant. This means I have no power, no responsibility but much influence in an advisory capacity which admittedly is just the way I like it.

gate-crashers is in reference to us accessing news with out the government spin on it from the gate-keepers of the elite and their loss of influence on the population with their hold on mainstream media. "oppression free world wide" is inclusive to a world wide resistance of the injustices we are all experiencing and doing what we can to overcome this struggle. the map doesn't have the grid and border separation usually representative on maps. as asinine as it might sound, "you're either with us or against us" indicates whether we are being oppressed or doing the oppressing. hence the black and white lay out. the use of gate-crashers.net or gate-crashers.com seems suitable, the word gate-crashers is 3 syllables, eager charts is one of the anagrams. as long as i can find the new site what it is now works for me. just adding my 2 cents...

I like freemankind.org a lot but only .net and perhaps .info are available out of the extentions we would likely want to use. Just promise me we won't use the tagline:

Free Mankind
"when you purchase another mankind of equal or greater value"

I'm not getting into a debate about if or why, that conversation has already taken place for something like the last year and a half. I am in favor of the name change away from the nonsensical 12160 and am facilitating the conclusion of that very long debate. After a year and a half I see no reason to rehash it once again.

Ultimately the final decision rests with our admin based upon his own thoughts and with a little input from those of us who have been most active on the site over a long period, and it's not easy to make such decisions when you know you cannot possibly please everybody no matter which way you turn.

I suggest we all simply try to make this transition as smooth and constructive as possible.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. The plan we formulated in the weekly round table is to gather suggestions, run them through a predictive hit analysis routine and then put those with top 10 results up for members vote via a polling widget.

For those who don't already know 12.160 MHz is the shortwave frequency that Alex Jones broadcasts on, so that's where 12160 came from. Snardfarker is supposedly some cryptic military jargon that our original founder Ed refused to explain so although I've been here since the beginning I have NO idea what a snardfarker is.

12160.org will be redirected to our new site and will remain for some time so that we don't loose the branding. That way people have time to get used to the new site name while still being able to link in off the old URL address for a smooth transition rather than simply dropping 12160 all at once.
