Nikki sry to bother you, but i could not find the discussion you were talking about. Could you please direct me to your discussion. I would very much like to read it. I do not put mine out on display, and I have invested in a small safe. I don't invest in any kind of paper metal, only physical.

Those are good suggestions, Mystery.  Hosting gold parties is very popular in my area.  They are like the old Tupperware parties except that the guests are selling their unwanted jewelery and the host is buying it.  But here's something scary that happened yesterday at 11 am.  Two houses on my block were burglarized.  At one house, the lady came back home and they ran off and didn't get anything.  But at the second house, they ransacked it.  Both the husband and wife work and didn't know until they came home until 6pm.  The thieves left behind many valuables and ONLY took the GOLD jewelery. The thieves were on foot and didn't even have a car but they knew exactly what they were looking for.   If you have gold of any type, you need to have it very well hidden.  See my discussion above about storing gold/precious metals.

I am a newbie and am trying to maintain a level head with all of the information I am trying to absorb. But I have noticed that for about 2 or 3 months now kitco has had some weird thing about shipping only to or out of the US on certain coins. At first I thought it may be because of the deal going on with their investigation, but then I started to think not at all. Does anyone have a explanation for this? I also have not had any trouble, locally acquiring silver or gold if you would be looking for that. I am hoping that I can get a good start before the move happens. I have found that yard sales and pawn shops are a good place to look. If you have a pawn shop that you can build a relationship with, it is a good thing. At yard sales you can run across alot of sterling, most don't realize the it is 90% of the pure thing. It would make good barter items, i think. But that is just my opinion, like I said I have a lot to learn. Thanks for any feed back.

Silver Soars $1 Overnight, Gold Up $30

Silver remains in its range trade this morning, but has made strong gains overnight, soaring by $1.20.  
Look for selling to emerge in the $31-$31.25 zone, and support around $29.50-$30. 
As open interest has plunged to nearly 100,000, and last week's COT report indicated a massive decline in the commercial short posi..., silver is now in its most bullish technical position since late 2008. 

This does not mean that price cannot go lower and drive the MACD and open interest lower with an even greater reduction of shorts, but severe price declines with historically low MACD's and OI must be bought professionally.  Physical silver is not a stock with a risk of going off the board completely.  
The more fear you feel in silver, the SAFER it is to buy, as you are buying a TANGIBLE ASSET AND CURRENCY THAT HAS INTRINSIC VALUE. 
For now, the bottom of the trading range is a buy, yet be prepared to buy any potential retest of the $26 overnight low from last Monday. 




Gold is soaring this morning as well, up $35 overnight to $1665 before backing off slightly.  Gold is now trading above Jim Sinclair's $1650 again.  
The bottom in gold also appears to be in.  Unlike silver which has violated its 2 year uptrend, gold has received strong support and remains well within its rising uptrend channel.

Man do I feel GOOOOD just bought silver at $30.40 out the door this morning!!!  Didn't catch the $26 dollar dip but i doubt any Americans did as it was 2am.

 

If your waiting for it to go back down stop that was just it, if your going to buy the dip now would be a good time. This shouldn't play out like 2008 in PM's as much has changed in silver and gold since then. All the weak hands dumped and the strong held and bought more. The paper silver guys are taking a serious beating right now, don't be them!! Stay in Phyzz  and hold on to your hat the volatility isn't over yet.

Our shop, jhmint.com, was super busy today. The public bought $250,000 worth of silver and gold today from us, about 3/4 silver, 1/4 gold, and most of it all in cash, all under $10,000 limit. We took in only $60,000 from online wires, in 7 different wire transfer transactions. This move down in the silver price is totally fraudulent, the people are buying like mad at these levels. If this price holds for some insane reason, while people buy this much, then I'm thinking that silver at most of our suppliers will run out in about a month or less. We had one customer who was just not satisfied with the 25% dip in prices in two days. He was "stuck" at the ticker, waiting for silver to hit $30 exactly, and I don't think he bought any. Most people were buying like crazy. Exhausting day! Fun Fun!
