I wrote a letter to my Congressman after I found out that he is opposed to military intervention in Syria. He does, however appear to be open to military intervention if Israel is attacked, or even merely threatened!

Beware of these rats. They are playing a game of weasel words with the public. When senators like Mitch McConnell speak of "vital national interests," or "strategic interests" with regards to Syria or Iran, they aren't necessarily referring to the US per se.

They are referring to Israel and Israeli intersts, not the interests of the average American. Don't be fooled by their little word games.

Go to your representatives webpage and read the section on foreign policy. Most of them are blatantly and openly pro-Israel. This in itself wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, it's just that these days, pro-Israel is most assuredly anti-American!

If your congressperson's page has any indication that they support military intervention in Syria, or any ridiculous, prostrating statements regarding Israel, feel free to copy and/or reprint in full, or any portions, of the following letter.

Dear XXXX,

As a resgistered voter and constituent of the XXXX, a district that you currently represent, I would like to take the time to commend you for your courage and bravery for opposing American military involvement and a bombing campaign in Syria. I agree whole-heartedly agree with the sentiments of your September 4, 2013 statement on "Why I Oppose Military Intervention in Syria."

Indeed, America’s job should be to protect our vital national interests. You are correct when you say that the United States has no strategic interest in this conflict, and that we have not been directly threatened by the events thus far.

While you deserve recognition and appreciation for standing up to Washington and its powerful war party, I am dismayed that you appear to be open to the option of military intervention in Syria in case Israel is threatened.

Although unconditional support for Israel is a popular sentiment in Washington and in the pro-war press, Israel has its own powerful, highly trained and well organized military and defense program which, according to some estimates, is subsidised in part by the US taxpayer at a minimum cost of $3 billion.

In the next few days, and completely against the will of the American people, hundreds of pro-Israel Jewish activists will raid the American Congress to lobby for a yes vote for limited strikes on Syria. Some of these groups include the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). There are no doubt many others.

According to the NY Times and other media outlets, these pro-Israel lobbying groups seek to pressure Congress to approve a proposed "limited" attack against Syria. Keep in mind that pretty much the same pro-Israeli Jewish lobby groups pushed for the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

You may be aware that according to various FOIA documents, the Institute for Middle Eastern Policy (IRMEP) contends that since pro-Israel lobbying groups, such as AIPAC disregard the Foreign Agents Registration Act, they may be in violation of illegally operating as a foreign agents of the Israeli government. Also, you may also be aware that in a court case lasting from 2005-2009, two former employees of AIPAC, Steven Rosen and Keith Weissman were charged for violating the Espionage Act and accused of improperly providing to their colleagues, journalists and Israeli diplomats sensitive information they had acquired by speaking with American policy makers. Much of this illegal activity was reported to have been connected to both Iraq and Iran.

One might wonder why the US Department of Justice and members of Congress have not called for closer scrutiny of the activities of these pro-Israeli Jewish lobby groups, or have called for congressional sessions on the question these group's activities being very much the will of the American people.

In case either you or your staff needs a refreshe on Israel's brutal and treasonous attack on the USS Liberty, at 0800 hrs on 8 June, 1967, eight Israeli recon flights flew over ‘Liberty,’ which was flying a large American flag. At 1400 hrs, waves of low-flying Israeli Mystere and Mirage-III fighter-bombers repeatedly attacked the American vessel with rockets, napalm, and cannon. The air attacks lasted 20 minutes, concentrating on the ship’s electronic antennas and dishes. The ‘Liberty’ was left afire, listing sharply. Eight of her crew lay dead, a hundred seriously wounded, including the captain, Commander William McGonagle.

At 1424 hrs, three Israeli torpedo boats attacked, raking the burning ‘Liberty’ with 20mm and 40mm shells. At 1431hrs an Israeli torpedo hit the ‘Liberty’ midship, precisely where the signals intelligence systems were located. Twenty-five more Americans died. Israeli gunboats circled the wounded ‘Liberty,’ firing at crewmen trying to fight the fires. At 1515, the crew were ordered to abandon ship. The Israeli warships closed and poured machine gun fire into the crowded life rafts, sinking two.

The Israeli attacks killed 34 US seamen and wounded 171 out of a crew of 297, the worst loss of American naval personnel from hostile action since World War II.

And finally, consider the Lavon Affair; the failed Israeli covert operation, code named Operation Susannah which was conducted in Egypt in the Summer of 1954. As part of the false flag operation, a group of Egyptian Jews were recruited by Israeli military intelligence for plans to plant bombs inside Egyptian, American and British-owned civilian targets, cinema, library and American educational center. The attacks were to be blamed on Egypt nationalists and Communists, and were designed to draw British and American forces into a wider conflict with Egypt.

As a congressman and supporter of Israel, you should be concerned with Israel,but your concern should be for Americans if Israel is successful in manufacturing an incident such as the Lavon Affair or the USS Liberty in order to drag America into war with Syria, Iran, Hezbollah and possibly Russia.

I have sent you a number of news clippings regarding why blind support for Israel is actually against American interests, which I encorage you and your staff would to review. As you state in proclaimation, "Why I Oppose Military Intervention in Syria," you said "America’s job is to protect our vital national interests." It is however, unclear, and has been unclear for decades now how the activities and protection of Israel equates to vital national interests of America.

I encorage you, your staff and your colleages to reconsider your position on Israel and once again, your vocal opposition to American military intervention into Syria despite your unconditional support of Israel is greatly appreciated.
