Please Keep Your Shortwave Radio Handy This Holiday Season!

ALERT! - THIS JU

2 MAY 2010-WWCR and sister station WNQM are OFF-AIR due to power outage and flooding. Nashville, Tennessee is recovering from 18 inches of rainfall in 2 days. We appreciate your patience and request your prayers for employees and friends of these stations, many of whom have suffered tremendous personal loss. Further details will be posted here as they become available.

UPDATE : May 5, 2010 : I did not receive Alex Jones on 12.160 MHz using my Grundig G8 receiver for 2 days so far. I don't know if WWCR went off air permanantly or they are having an issue with their transmitter. I will check for the updates.

UPDATE: July 11, 2010: Alex Jones can be heard on the new frequency on Sundays on 9350 kHz. Be sure to add this frequency to your WWCR
presets. More coming soon.

UPDATE: December 27, 2010,  Today we had a real bad snow storm that hit the Eastern part of the United States.   I would recommend that you take time off and plug and power up your shortwave radio to hear the weather reports on SSB (frequencies will be available soon) and Ham radio conversations in the 160, 80, and 40 meter bands.   Also hear some broadcasters such as Radio Havana Cuba, Radio China International, and other stations in the 49 meter band.   This storm is going away, but there will be more ahead soon.   And Happy New Year!

My Reception Report for 12.160

The reception is bad in my apartment even when connected to a wire antenna. The only way I can get the signal in clear is to be outside. My apartment renter does not want me to put up outdoor antennas so I will be isolated inside with poor reception. WWCR should of left the
stations the way they are the reception on 12160 kHz is not that good. Now frequencies 5070 kHz and 3215 kHz are good to listen to at night, and thats when I listen to Alex Jones is only at night if I am at the radio receiver. My test radio receiver I used was the new Grundig G6 Buzz Aldrin edition and the reception on 5070 kHz is very good, but in the daytime, the reception on 12160 kHz in my apartment is poor.

hey klc do you have a tower with a pole that would help you get very good reception,if you dont and you have just the antennathats on the radio thats no good ,you need to be aleast 30-to 50 ft of the ground to get good receptionor take a wire hook it up to your radio run it outside to your chainlink fence that should give you some kind a reception
