Shots were fired at Central Michigan University’s campus Friday morning.

According to a text alert send to students, there are reports of shots fired near 4th floor of Campbell Hall.
Details are extremely limited right now, but we are working to find out exactly what happened.
Students are being told to stay away from the area.

UPDATE: The suspect is a black male and considered armed and dangerous.
URGENT INFORMATION: There has been a report of a shooting on the campus of Central Michigan University. The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is assisting Central Michigan University PD with the situation. The shooter has not yet been apprehended. Please remain aware of your surroundings and call 911 to report suspicious activity. All City buildings are currently locked down and not accessible to the general public. More information will be shared as it is received.
