There has been much skepticism by science over the existence of some unidentified species of ancient aquatic dinosaur that roams the darkened depths of Loch Ness, normally referred to as the Loch Ness Monster. Researchers have denied the eye witness accounts, scientific findings that suggest a real creature or creatures exist, and most write it off as folklore! Even the famous film by Tim Dinsdale of a head above the surface of the loch and a very long reptilian body seen beneath the surface of the water remains inadequate as proof to the skeptics.
They say that two sonar scans organized events performed by multiple ships in a linear formation that traversed the entire length of the loch, came up with nothing as proof that there is no sea creature in the dark peat bog-stained waters of the loch. Yet, recently, a marine biologist recorded echo location given off by the equivalent of a marine mammal similar to a whale. Once again, the doubters stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the elusive legend that many swear to have seen.
However, just months ago, in a totally unrelated series of events the unknown was revealed! A group of researchers attempting to map the bottom of the Loch Ness basin to track formations, fissures, and fault lines, were taking readings with advanced equipment. What they found surprised them! While mapping geological features they found a series of connected underwater caverns, grottos, and fissures that a large reptilian species could dwell in unnoticed! This system of subterranean caves actually branch out into the North Sea! Something scientists were totally unaware of! Loch Ness is the largest body of fresh water larger than all lakes, rivers, and channels combined in the UK with depths up to 800 feet in cold murky waters.
ROV scanning of the Loch Ness basin.
As the equipment scanned and photographed the bottom of Loch Ness, a peculiar shape was detected with the perfect outline of a Plesiosaur! The very animal, supposedly extinct, that science refused to acknowledge! Even the Loch Ness Society of Nesse Hunters had become discouraged until now! Allegations that there was not enough food in the loch, that the brackish water was not the right environment, that the water temperatures were too cold to support a cold-blooded reptilian dinosaur have now been debunked! Strangely, the research team has locked down access to their recordings, claiming that they need more time to verify their findings, but the evidence is in! Apparently, the creatures can swim in and out of the loch using this system of underwater caves and much like bull sharks who can adapt to fresh and salt water, Nesse has been found to be a viable species
One might recall that in 1966 the RAF took a reconnaissance photo of a 99 foot long unidentified object on the surface of Loch Ness, but were unable to determine what they had recorded. There is a strobe camera film that clearly shows the distinctive plesiosaur shape replete with 4 flippers, a thick body and long neck, yet was also dismissed by science! Just like the Coelacanth discovered in the Indian Ocean in 1937 supposedly extinct for millions of years, the Loch Ness monster has remained well hidden from scientific eyes until now!
