Winter storm Nemo will bring the heaviest precipitation to the Hartford, Conn. area, with nearly hurricane-force winds sweeping all the way up the coast to Portland, Maine. Downed power lines, widespread blackouts, and inaccessible roads are all possibilities with a storm of this magnitude.

I heard they were comparing it to the blizzard of 1978. I was in Rhode Island then and it was something to see. Entire roadways stilled buses and cars left in the middle of the road as people walked away from them. Amazing ice cycles hanging down all over the neighborhood, it was a different world for a while.
I heard this james... thanks for the info, ugh have family and great friends there... the last FLOOD was a century flood living on the NH Seacoast brought those small beach houses owned by the "gold coasters" onto our lawn along with a lot of sand. And a flood you wouldnt believe. OUr home was surround with 3 feet of water, we couldnt get out. And the snow that followed... there was SO MUCH, that they dumped it on the beach. Unreal. Prayers for those in the Northeast fo shure. Thanks HAARP... (you S.O.B's)
We're going to be getting our fair share of snow here in WI, supposedly around 6-8 inches. It's time for the first round of shoveling, woot :)
Stay Safe guys
A crippling and potentially historic winter storm barreled toward the Northeast on Thursday, threatening tens of millions of people with 2 feet of snow. Airlines encouraged fliers to change their plans and get out of the way.
By mid-morning, there were delays of more than two hours at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, where tangles can snarl air traffic across the country. Major airlines waived fees to change flights, which run up to $150.
The culprits were a so-called clipper system moving through the Upper Midwest and a low-pressure system headed for the waters off New England. When they converge, probably late Friday, they are expected to sock the region with its heaviest snow in two years.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch for parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Long Island and said travel there could become nearly impossible.
“You’re going to see some really significant snow totals,” said Tom Niziol, a meteorologist for The Weather Channel. “This is something we haven’t seen in a while, particularly in New England.”
