Donald Trump promised repeatedly on the campaign trail that he would move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the nation’s capitol in Jerusalem.
It now seems, however, that the plan has been officially scrapped. The Israeli news organization Arutz Sheva and multiple others were reporting Wednesday that senior U.S. sources had informed the Israeli government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Trump would extend a directive postponing the move for six months. Presidents of both parties have routinely issued this postponement for decades.
