If you're going to buy a long term SHTF respirator (gas mask), I would advise against the old Soviet GP-5 and SCHM-41M (the mask degrade under UV and the filters may contain asbestos) and Israeli civilian masks e.g M15 (they only dump surplus on the market when its deemed to be truly obsolete or used, i.e useless)
If you can't source a new high end CBRN / NBC military respirator, you do better to source a full face industrial respirator on ebay, one that takes a standard 40mm filter canister - it's possible to get combo gas/vapor filters.
