Brother Leader Colonel Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar Al-Gaddafi, founder of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahirya. He created the most prosperous and progressive country on the African continent. He was set, with help from Russia, to build a transcontinental railraod from Libya to South Africa, spanning the entire length of the African continent.

He was set to create an African currency called "The Afro," backed by Libyan gold. He had financed Africa's first satellite for Africa's telecommunications system, thus relieving Africa of an annual $500,000,000 bill from Europe for rental of their satellite space. Europe never forgave him.

His accomplishments for Libya:

1. He achieved 93% literacy, the highest in Africa, for his citizens. Prior to his BLOOD-LESS Al-Fateh Revolution in 1969, literacy in Libya, under King Idris, was only 10%

2. Women achieved high rank in the Jamahiriya. He abolished the tradition of forced arrange marriages. Women chose their own mates, rather than their fathers or other male relatives choosing them. When a woman was ready for marriage, an Imam would ask her, "Are you being coerced into this marriage by a male relative?" If it was discovered that that was the case, the marriage would not go forward. Women could drive anywhere in Libya that they wished, unescorted--no "biggy" for the West, but a HUGE deal for some Arab/Muslim countries. Yet, at the same time, he was a staunch Muslim, though he knew Islam BETTER than the corrupt priests within Islam that, over centuries, had put women under oppression.

3. Life expectancy, under Brother Leader, was around age 79--the highest in Africa.

4. Each Libyan, under the Jamahiriya's oil revenue-sharing program, received $500 dollars per month [it might have been 500 dinars] in their personal bank accounts

5. Education was free for all, up through college, to any university on earth

6. Those wishing to farm were given free land and seeds.

7. He built what was considered one of the "wonders of the world": The Great Man-made River.

8. He eliminated, totally, homelessness in Libya, promising that he would not even provide a home for his own parents until every Libyan was housed. He kept to that promise, and built a home for his mother after every other Libyan had been housed. In an interview by the 60 Minutes television magazine, his mother stated that her only regret was that her husband, Brother Leader's father, did not live to see that home.

9. He was set to be given, a few of years ago, an award for HUMANITARIANISM by the United Nations organization, but the imperialists decided to attack, and destroy, Libya before that could be done. The imperialist had caste him, in the corporate press, as a "brutal dictator," and could not afford for the world to see that the United Nations had extended an award for HUMANITARIANISM to a so-called "brutal dictator."

10. He built projects all over Africa for African nations: industrial plants, hotels, schools, hospitals, clinics, etc. He fearlessly funded liberation movements, including the African National Congress. In fact, Nelson Mandella, the leader of the ANC, and the Father of post-Apartheid Africa, said, "In our darkest hours, when we felt that all was lost for our struggle for freedom, my friend, Brother Leader Muammar Gaddafi, came to our rescue." He was the REAL DEAL

11. His biggest desire was to unite the entire African continent, and make it totally independent of the imperialist. He dreamt about this, and worked on it, 24/7.

12. He did not believe in the "employer/employee" relationship. He believed that those that worked in a canning factory, for example, should be EQUAL SHARERS; equal partners in the business, not wage slaves. And he guided this form of economic venture into existence in Libya.

13. For the first 15 years of his rule, the number of doctors per 1000 citizens increased by seven times, with the number of hospital beds increasing by three times.

14. During his leadership of L
