Very efficient trauma based mind control. Those times the firstborn belonged to the lord (in Hebrew language lord is baal), and the parents had to redeem them by paying five pieces of silver. What happened if the parents did not have the money?  Can you imagine anything more horrible than to eat your own family? What can you say about the foundations of Christianity?
