Oleg Volk is the photographer. He excels in gun rights photos. I'm guessing that the rifle is an Italian Breda BM-59 - essentially a reworked Garand chambered for 7.62mm NATO.

Of course Yamamoto was speaking within the context of a coordinated military strategy requiring occupational forces. However, what you have pointed out is none the less true and quite the lateral perspective so many lack.

 

Kudos to creative thought and thinking outside the box! Also kudos to the lady in the picture with the rifle. I love girls with guns. So hot.
