One might recall the Pentagon Papers. I read that book when it came out. the CIA advised against entering an Asian land war unless the US wanted to end like the French in Dien Bien phu, and that happened because we, the US, capitulated on our promise to air drop supplies to the French and add combat support if necessary!  Jack Kennedy authorized the first US advisors that entered into the support of the South Vietnamese government. Also, later on the the damn war every time the US planned a major offensive the CIA leaked this to the North Vietnamese under the aegis of trying to prevent a third world war with China and  the Soviets who were supplying the Vietcong. So, WTF! Anyway, the North Vietnam Communists did their lion share of murdering innocent villagers, torturing suspected US sympathizers, car bombings in Saigon, and other terrorist attack in the south. there were no guys wearing white hats in this protracted war!

The CIA has started wars; overthrown governments; assassinated foreign leaders (and, no doubt at least played a huge role in the deaths of JFK, MLK Jr, Malcolm X); created Operation Mockingbird, Operation Paperclip, Operation Cyclone (to arm and finance the Mujaheddin) and helped create Al Qaeda; created Operation Phoenix (Kidnapping, torture and killing of thousands of Vietnamese civilians 1965-72).  To name a few of their heinous activities.  They are pure evil, so the idea they would do this to children does not surprise me.  Then they justify lying by saying the public can't know because of "National Security" concerns.
