After reading your “Floor statement on the government takeover contained in the HELP and House health care bills” as posted on your website, I must offer you my thanks. It is reassuring to know that Iowans who are opposed to government-run health care, with an unelected Secretary of Health and Human Services at the top of organizational chart, have at least one elected representative who is willing to voice that opposition. We are opposed to our health decisions being made by a government official. We are opposed to the 87 new government programs that the HELP bill would create. We are opposed to the Secretary of HHS determining what subjects will be taught in medical schools. We are opposed to the $1,000,000,000,000 price tag of the House bill.
Please, Mr. Senator, continue to fight the good fight. Fiscally responsible Iowans are counting on you. God Bless!
