Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court will likely come up for a vote on Thursday or Friday before the Senate adjourns for its August recess.

Contact your senators and urge them to oppose Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme
Court.

Her past views and recent answers to questions in her nomination hearing show that Kagan is no friend of liberty and suggest her tenure on the Court will provide a rubberstamp for expanding federal power.

According to columnist Glenn Greenwald, “Nothing
is a better fit for this White House than a blank slate,
institution-loyal, seemingly principle-free careerist who spent the last
15 months as the Obama administration's lawyer vigorously defending
every one
of his assertions of extremely broad executive authority.”

When pressed on natural rights by Senator Tom Coburn, Kagan responded, “To be honest with you, I don't have a view of what are natural rights independent
of the Constitution."

Senator Jeff Sessions said Tuesday, "Her testimony lacked clarity, accuracy and the kind of intellectual honesty you would
look for from someone who sits on such a high court."

According to the Washington Post,
Senator Lindsey Graham, who voted in favor of her confirmation in
committee, said, “‘I think there's a good reason for a conservative to
vote yes,’ Graham told his colleagues. He added that she was
‘smart . . . and she's funny, that goes a long way in my book.’"

Being funny may be a great qualification if you’re looking for a date, but such a quote demonstrates the circus Supreme Court nomination hearings have become.

Contact your senators today and
tell them to oppose Elena Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court!
And ask them to take their constitutional responsibility seriously by
refusing to let Supreme Court nominees evade hard, critical questions.
