Alone in a Room

Mind bending the final ending

We’re in a new world with unlimited spending

In most families the fence needs mending

To disinterested parties this message I’m sending,

Living alone in a room

For company my trusty broom

At one time I was a groom

Feels like I ate a psychedelic mushroom,

Though I pray everyday

Can’t seem to keep the wolves at bay

When family and friends stay away

Thieves and adulterers are having a heyday,

The world has gone upside down

Don’t even ask me why I wear a frown

Seems I’ve become every woman’s clown

These days it’s sink, swim, or drown,

On the road to the scheme of things

Took a wrong turn to see what fate might bring

Oh how these bitter tears sting

Abandoned by love and living on a shoe string,

In our lives we are put to the test

Don’t know what to expect but we do our best

At times we do wrong at the Devil’s behest

Time to get this this guilt off my chest,

You’ll find our heroes in a garden of stone

Sinners get uplifted while the good stand alone

Society has become accident prone

Genetically compromised like short-lived clones,

The truth sayers have become silenced

While our cities are filled with violence

In an age deluded by pseudoscience

Injected with poison in exchange for compliance.
