Breaking: Gunman Armed with AK-47 Breached Fort Leonard Wood (Mo.) Security…Manhunt Underway [Update: Suspect in Custody]
(KMOV.com) — Police in Missouri are looking for a suspect accused trying to get onto a military base, firing shots at police and then carrying a weapon onto Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Authorities say Cody N. Willcoxson, 31, is on the loose and is considered dangerous. Willcoxson was released from jail in 2008 after serving a seven year sentence for 2nd Degree Burglary, Escape from a County Jail and Assisting Escape of a Prisoner.
On Thursday morning, military police at Fort Leonard Wood said they tried to stop a silver Dodge Magnum driven by Willcoxson. Authorities say he sped away from police.

Later Thursday morning, police say the suspect fired shots near the Missouri University of Science and Technology and was then seen carrying a gun on campus.

Authorities recovered a gun near McNutt Hall. Now police are searching for the suspect in an area across from I-44 near the campus.
The Missouri S & T campus is still on lockdown and is operating under emergency conditions.
Police are still looking for Willcoxson. He was last seen near White Columns Drive in Rolla. He was reportedly wearing a blue and white T-shirt and possibly khaki cargo shorts. He is described as a white male with sandy blonde hair and might be bleeding from his hand. He is 5″10″ tall and weighs 180 pounds.

ROLLA, Mo. (AP) — A gunman tried to break into a Missouri Army base Thursday and fired on police who pursued him before crashing a vehicle at a nearby university, which went on lockdown after he was seen walking into a campus building, officials said.
The Missouri University of Science and Technology campus remained locked down at midday as the search continued for the man, who fired shots near campus but apparently not on school grounds, a school spokeswoman said. The university sent an alert at 8:50 a.m. warning that a gunman was seen entering a building that houses classrooms and offices, then noted 15 minutes later that he had left campus.
Fort Leonard Wood spokesman Mike Warren said a man tried to enter the installation through its west gate earlier in the morning. The security guard determined the identification card the man produced didn’t look legitimate and told him to leave. Instead the driver accelerated rapidly and drove through the gate, then led military police on a chase that ended when he drove back out through the front gate and the St. Robert Police Department began the pursuit. >>>

(Connect MidMissouri KRCG 13) Authorities have the suspect in custody. Authorities caught him on County Road 6030 near Edgar Springs. Law enforcement officials got the custody on ground at gunpoint.
Cody Willcoxson, 31, is in custody. He has one gunshot wound.

How melodramatic it is that morons scream Lone Wolf, and babble about Bin Laden, when the only events are an idiot with attention needs and a gun fired. Seems, as is usually the case, that Hysteria rules. The guy was a nut case. Not even a decent criminal. Facts seem not to matter. MOST of the weapons used in crimes are stolen. People who actually buy their weapons VERY rarely use them for ciminal acts. The utter idiocy of making more room for population growth, without drawing some reasonable limits, is a kind of insanity that mankind has been striving toward for a very long time...

yep, its unusual for me to get a gut feeling of sorts but this guy was very likely a Gov MK-ultra shooter / Prozac head shooter. Note the gun named "ak-47" the enemys gun as the media would like to label it.
