San Diego Gas and Electric said the outage appears to have originated in Arizona and that the agency is working with California power officials to bring the power back. Officials said the outages extended across Southern California and into Arizona and Baja California.

Gil Alexander, a spokesman for Southern California Edison, said the power outage did not cause any safety issues. I live above San Diego in the mountains. They tell me it will be at least 3 days before we get service restored in the outlaying areas. I hope I have enough fuel for the generator for three or more days , glad i didn't go grocery shopping today. One bright note is the sky view will be fantastic.
