It appears that Chatango has been turned over to star wielding tyrannical ninja bots. That's right infowarriors, one wrong word and ---*thwak! They'll put your damn eye out with that thing.

What are the standards they go by? It's pretty hard to tell. Yesterday when I discovered this orgy of cretinous ideological censorship I ran a quick test with the help of a couple of other users in the main 12160 Chatango chat room. Apparently fuck, pussy, and cunt are out while a host of other fine words are fully endorsed by Chatango such as shit, wap, spic, penis, fag, fagot, damn and even the dreaded 'N' word.

I find that rather interesting. Chatango doesn't want me to call somebody a pussy (even my cat apparently) but calling somebody the 'N' word is A-okay.

Come to think of it, if Chatango's standards were applied to the entire internet all references to the Pussy Willow tree would be stricken and gardening tips on the care and pruning of such flora would disappear from the internet forever. I can only assume this would result in Pussy Willows growing wildly out of control and eventually taking over the Earth as our slave masters. After all their name (according to Chatango) is insufferably evil and, well,.. just look at those insidious white fluffy little flowers on the branches. I nearly threw up twice just posting this.

The really stupid thing of course is that their blocking does not really keep me from typing around their restrictions. I could after all post a pic that includes those forbidden words. I could also simply type Fucl< you, you stupid little puzzies with penises so small they look like a Kunt, or Cu.nt, or Cun_t or any number of other permutation. Hell I could even fire off a filthy video from my web cam, upload it to my hosting account and post it on Chatango, then remove it long before my hosting provider ever got wise.

The whole thing is rather Amero-centric as well since obviously the list of forbidden words will never be translated to block their equivalents in all of the Earth's myriad languages. In addition as I understand it neither fuck nor cunt are particularly profane in the UK and are tossed around quite commonly while the word bloody was once the height of profanity and for all I know any one of those three might mean 'soccer ball' in Portuguese.

The point is the whole thing is complete idiotic bullshit and I simply won't put up with my free speech being censored, especially to the extent that my words are changed in real time as I type them, so personally I am off of Chatango for good. There's a reason free speech was first in being identified for protection in the bill of rights and I personally won't put up with it.
